Background
Ronald has worked as an Industry Professional for over 18 years primarily in Database Modeling and Large Systems Design. Projects have included clients in Australia, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, United Kingdom and USA, and work locations in Australia, United Kingdom and USA.
Significant experience in a number of large distributed systems design, development and support with the Ingres RDBMS both in government, semi-government and corporate organizations until 1996 lead to Ronald becoming the "Ingres Specialist" to Oracle Corporation - Design and Migration Services based in Brisbane Australia doing R&D in the Ingres to Oracle Conversion Workbench. Portions of this R&D work are still in operation today within Oracle Migration Products.
Significant Database Modeling and large systems design in the Oracle RDBMS suite during 1996-2000 lead to successful projects deployed locally and internationally. These included projects consulting for Oracle Corporation - Design & Migration Services, as well as independently.
For more then the past 8 years, current design and development has been focused in Web Design and Development using Open Source technologies including the MySQL Database on Linux Operating Systems and Java software technologies, while also using and comparing both Oracle and Microsoft RDBMS software products.

- First Computer - 1983 -Dick Smith VZ200 [Wikipedia Reference]
- First PC Computer - 1984 -Epson QX-16 [Wikipedia Reference]. This computer was actually a dual processor with a Z80 and Interl 8086 chip, allowing for two different operating systems to run seperately. Purchased for between $3,000 and $4,000 while earning approximately $5 per hour on a weekend job, it took a very long time to pay for my first machine.
